Chocolate Cheerios Review and Giveaway

choccheer

I will be the first to admit when I was offered to do a review and giveaway on the new Chocolate Cheerios I didn’t hesitate. Come on…Chocolate?  Hello of course!

The bad thing is my box, with everything pictured above, arrived on my front porch the day I was leaving to go out of town. When I got back into town 3 days later I found the empty Chocolate Cheerios box in the trash. I didn’t even get one bowl!

Obviously the kids all liked it. I did end up buying another box so that I could get a taste of them though and I really loved them. They are not too sticky sweet for my taste. There is even a great recipe using the Chocolate Cheerios and my favorite Nutella that I will be making:

Chocolate Hazelnut Marshmallow Balls
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Start to Finish: 15 Minutes

1/2 cup hazelnut spread with cocoa
1/4 cup milk chocolate chips
14 large marshmallows
Toothpicks
3 cups Chocolate Cheerios® cereal
Round wooden sticks with one pointed end or craft sticks
(flat wooden sticks with round ends)

  1. In medium microwavable bowl, microwave hazelnut spread and chocolate chips on high 30 seconds; stir until smooth. Place cereal in shallow dish.
  2. Insert toothpick into marshmallow; dip in chocolate mixture. Roll in cereal to coat completely. Place on large plate; remove toothpick. Repeat with remaining marshmallows. If desired, insert round wooden sticks into each for pops.
  3. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.
    14 servings

General Mills and MyBlogSpark want to give one lucky reader the same gift pack above that I received.

To enter: Leave a comment on what your favorite chocolate treat is.

Entries will be taken until Thursday, March 4th at noon CST. At that time I will post the winner and you will have 48 hours to get back to me with your mailing information.

Curel Itch Defense Giveaway

During the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, athletes require high performance skin care in order to be comfortable in their own skin and combat wind and freezing temperatures. Sports like skiing, bobsledding and ice hockey, are held on snow or ice and can cause dry, itchy skin.

“Between extreme dryness and freezing conditions, winter weather can have a very damaging effect on skin,” says Dr. Sapna Westley, Assistant Attending Physician in the Department of Dermatology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City and Kao Brands Company Consulting Dermatologist. “Chapped, cracked, dry skin requires penetrating, therapeutic moisture to hydrate and relieve.”

So whether you are a part of the Olympics, or just cheering for your favorite team or getting ready for a ski trip, you always want to be a head of the game - just like the athletes. Thanks to the new Curél® Itch Defense moisture lotion you and your skin will stay comfortable the entire season.

Curél® Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion for Dry Itchy Skin is a revolutionary solution to the irritation that causes itching. The Itch Defense moisture lotion rebalances four essential components of healthy skin, restoring skin to its natural moisture levels:

  • Humectants and Emollients boost moisturization and leave skin feeling protected
  • Natural Ceramides restore skin’s barrier function and regulate skin’s ability to hold moisture
  • Accelerated Cellular Turnover minimizes dry, flaky skin and smoothes the skin’s surface, balancing the dry skin cycle
  • Balanced pH levels return skin to a healthy equilibrium

If it touches the floor in my house it goes in the trash! My boys try to eat it but unless Im not there, that is not happening.I don't care if I just scrubbed the floor 5 minutes ago and the food is hard like candy or a chip or whatever, it is still trash in my eyes. The person most likely is really 2 -both of my sons, but they never get away with it anyway.I will throw away an entire pizza,a bag of chips anything if it gets spilled and it touches the floor.

The 5 Second Rule

I am sure you have all heard of the 5 Second Rule. You know…the rule where when you are holding something and are about ready to take a bite then the earth rotates just so and it causes you to drop if from your hands onto the floor…but within 5 seconds you can pick it up and blow it off and still eat it, fuzz and all, and the world will never know…that rule.

Apparently there have been studies on the 5 second rule and maybe it is not such a great rule. Germs can instantly attach to items in under 5 seconds. Samantha Bee from The Daily Show talked about her feelings on the 5 second rule. Clorox Bleach can be used to kill those germs that are picked up around the house.

Clorox is giving away a prize pack valued at $20 to help you clean up the house and keep germs at bay.

To enter leave a comment answering these questions:

1. Do you or someone in your family follow the 5-second rule?
2. Who’s more likely to follow the 5-second rule in your house?
3. What are the most popular items to 5-second rule?
4. Do you have a funny 5-second rule story?
5. Thinking about Sam Bee’s style, what’s your parenting style?

Entries will be taken until February 9th at noon CST then I will pick one winner at random and you will have 48 hours to get back to me with your information or a new winner will be picked.

A Second way to win:

Tweet @Clorox with the item you use the 5-second rule with most and you will have the chance to win a $50 Visa gift card. Use #smpl&surprising in your tweet!

You can also check out these other blogs for the giveaway too!
