Go Red for Women

National Wear Red Day is coming up again on Friday, February 5th. Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s nationwide movement that celebrates the energy, passion and power of women to join together and wipe out heart disease; the #1 killer of American women and men. Since 2004, Macy’s customers and employees have contributed more than $21 million to the Go Red for Women movement.

Here is where you can participate:

  • Red is the color that saves at the Wear Red Sale
  • Take fashion to heart and buy the limited edition INC International Concepts Little Red Dress
  • Share your story at the Go Red Casting Calls
  • Attend a Go Red luncheon in your area
  • Join Go Red For Women
  • Macy’s is giving one lucky reader a $25 gift card!

To enter: Tell me how many people you personally know with heart disease.

For additional entries tweet this: Macy’s is giving away a $25 gift card on @jane4girls blog http://bit.ly/GoRed4Women

Each tweet is an additional entry. Come back and leave a comment with the link to your tweet.

Entries will be taken until Tuesday, February 2nd at noon CST. At that time I will post the winner and you will have 48 hours to get back to me with your information.

My dad died of heart disease and with my obesity I"m headed that way too. One of my brothers had bypass surgery at 44, so it runs in my family....:(

My mother died of heart disease at the age of 70 - way too young - so this is a special cause for me.

Heart disease runs in my family, too. My dad, along with 2 grandparents had heart attacks. And I know too many friends and extented family to count.

I work in a long-term care facility where we see lots of people with a variety of cardiac diseases. However, I'm fortunate in that I can't think of any close relatives or friends who suffer from heart disease.

My Mother (and best friend) has heart disease).... She's my closest relative other than my son and I fully support more research into helping those with this disease...and to prevent more from getting it. Thanks for the giveaway and raising the issue!

I myself have heart disease. I am obese, have diabetes and am physically unable to be very active. I know three other people who have heart disease and t seems being overweight is definitely the culprit. If you have good health, be thanksful and keep it that way.

Too many to even guess, I work as a nurse in an IM (70% geriatric) practice. Likely 33 - 50 % of the patients we see daily have some degree of heart disease. My immediate family an aunt by marriage and my beloved mother-in-law.
