Giveaway Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas

CGXmas_DVD_2D-216x300

Even though my youngest girls are now in Junior High they still love Curious George. I remember watching him and The Man in the Yellow Hat as a kid myself. So when I was offered to review and giveaway the new DVD, Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas, I had to say yes.

As soon as we got our copy of the DVD the girls had to watch it. While on the hunt for the perfect Christmas gift George gets into his normal mischief. The Man in the Yellow Hat sure has a lot of patience with Curious George. This DVD is sure to become an instant classic.

One lucky reader will get their own copy of Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas along with a CD soundtrack from the movie.

To enter: Tell me any memories you have of Curious George

For extra entries tweet this: I just entered to win Curious George #AVeryMonkeyChristmas DVD from @jane4girls. http://jane4girls.blogspot.com/ You should enter too.

El Tacodor!

IMG_1729

Do you remember the old game of choo-choo or airplane when trying to get your kids to eat their dinner? Sometimes getting kids to eat their dinner can be easier by making a game out of it.

Old El Paso has a fun dinner game called El Tacodor. It is a fun way to unwind after a hard day and work and let loose with the family.

You can log onto El Tacodor and download the instructions, scorecard and challenge questions. You can download new monthly challenges once you are done with your starter pack all for FREE.

Old El Paso and MyBlogSpark gave me  two coupons to purchase Old El Paso dinner kits and a $10 gift card to purchase any additional meal needs (i.e. meat, cheese, lettuce, etc) and want to give one lucky reader the same gift pack.

To enter: Visit El Tacodor and locate the JalapeƱo challenge pack. Pick one question that you don’t need a partner for and give me your best answer to it.

For extra entries tweet this: Game night has a new twist with Old El Paso and El Tacodor. Win a pack @jane4girls blog. http://jane4girls.blogspot.com/

Each tweet earns an extra entry.

Entries will be taken until Wednesday, December 16th at noon CST. At that time a winner will be picked and you have 48 hours to get back to me or a new winner will be picked.

Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion

I recently had the pleasure of trying new Vaseline Sheer Infusion with Stratys-3.

I am not really a lotion person except for in the winter when hot showers make for dry skin.

Most of the time when you apply lotions you have to keep reapplying it throughout the day. Not with Vaseline Sheer Infusions. I apply it in the morning after a shower and my dry skin was relieved for the whole day and night.

Some moisturizers only treat the top layers of your surface skin, leaving it feeling greasy. Others sink through quickly and your skin is not thoroughly moisturized. Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion infuses and suspends superior moisture across all layers of your skin.

Michael Buble Crazy Love

I will be honest, when I received a copy of Michael Buble’s newest release, Crazy Love, I had no idea who he was. My oldest daughter even asked me why I had it since she knew I had no clue who he was.

Let me tell you, after listening to this CD over and over and over and over and…well you get it, I have decided that if they make a movie of my life that Crazy Love will be the soundtrack to it. This is one of these CD’s you can play all day long and never get tired of it.

Even his first single, Haven’t Met You Yet, goes along with my lifestyle, lol. Take a look and see!

You can find more about Michael Buble from his site or facebook fan page. I strongly encourage you to check out his videos on YouTube also. I can’t believe this is the first I have ever heard of him, but better late than never. You can order your own copy of Michael Buble’s Crazy Love here.

Mystic Wonders Wonder Ball Review and Giveaway

Back in August I was set a Complete Laundry System from Mystic Wonders Inc. It comes with a Wonder Ball for the washing machine and two Wonder Dryer Balls for the dryer.

I wanted to use the Complete Laundry System for awhile before posting it. First off let me say I was skeptical that this would be all I needed to do my laundry, no detergent, no dryer sheets no anything.

Right off I could tell I liked the dryer balls. The little nubs on them keep the clothes separated and redistribute the heat cutting down on drying time. I could tell a difference in my drying time from the very first load.

The washing ball took me a little longer to like. First off it says you don’t need ANY detergent with it, which kind of scared me. I do use detergent with mine but only use about 1/5 what I normally would. This saves me a ton of money right there. After about 6 weeks using it, once the old detergents were out of the clothing, I could tell a huge difference in the softness of the clothing.

The dryer balls are engineered to last forever where the washer ball needs to be replaced/recharged every 3 years or 2000 washes. Can you imagine how much money this will save you?

Mystic Wonders has offered to give one lucky reader their own Complete Laundry System.

To enter: Leave a comment with how many loads of laundry you do a month.

For bonus entries:either share this giveaway on your blog, facebook or twitter. Then come back and leave a link to where you shared it.

You can tweet about it up to four times a day with each one earning an extra entry.

Entries will be taken until Friday, November 20th at noon CST. At that time I will post the winner and you have 48 hours to get back to me with your information.

Once in a Blue Moon Review / Giveaway

I was given a copy of Eileen Goudge’s latest book Once In A Blue Moon to review by One2One Network. In all honestly I have not finished the book yet with my hectic schedule, but I have really enjoyed what I have read so far.

Sisters Lindsay and Kerrie Ann have known hardship from an early age. Without guidance from their neglectful mother, their only aid came from an unlikely source, a retired exotic dancer by the name of Miss Honi Love. When the girls’ mother was sent to prison, Miss Honi tried unsuccessfully to save them from being separated and sent into foster care.

Thirty years later, Lindsay is still trying to reconnect with her sister. The owner of a bookstore in the sleepy California seaside town of Blue Moon Bay, she was lucky enough to have been adopted by a loving couple. Unbeknownst to her, Kerrie Ann has suffered a very different life. Bounced from one foster home to the next, she ran away as a teenager before becoming a drug-addicted single mother. Now, newly sober, Kerrie Ann is fighting to regain custody of the little girl who was taken from her.

Neither sister’s expectations are met when they’re finally reunited. But as the two sisters engage in the fiercest battles of their lives, they are at last drawn together despite their differences, restoring belief in the unshakable bond of family.

Wow right! I can’t wait to finish it. I have gotten drawn into the characters lives. You can find our more about Eileen Goudge from either her Facebook page or you can also follow her on Twitter.

You can win your own copy of Once in a Blue Moon and also a copy of Eileen's best sellers Woman in Red.

to enter: Leave a comment about how often you read and if you think that is enough time or you wish you had more time.

entries will be taken until thursday, November 5 at noon CST. At that time a winner will be picked and you will have 48 hours to get back to me with your information or a new winner will be picked.

Better Life Green Cleaning Products

starterKit

If you have been following my blog any length of time you might know my dirty little secret….I don’t like cleaning!  I can’t stand the smell of chemicals and with an asthmatic child in the house she would always have to leave if I did some heavy cleaning…so many times it didn’t get done.

A month or two ago I came across Better Life green cleaning products. I was given the Starter Set above to try out. I didn’t want to just get it and simply post a review on it right away. I wanted time to (gasp) clean with it.

Better Life offers a wide range of products for all of your cleaning needs. I have been using all of the products in the starter pack since I got it. Right now, because of my cleaning needs, my favorite is the what-EVER!

Besides having the coolest labels I have seen, what-EVER! is an all purpose cleaner that also disinfects. It has actually been proven to remove more germs and bacteria than conventional disinfectants! And the best part,it is solvent-free (no ammonia, alcohol, ethers) and pH neutral. For my family this means that even my daughter with asthma has no excuse not to help clean now…sorry honey. It cut through splattered grease on the microwave and cook top like you would not believe!

Better Life Green Cleaning Products has offered to give one lucky reader the same starter pack that I received.

To enter: Visit Better Life online and check out the “Flower Test” and give me your opinion/feelings on the test.

For extra entries: follow me on twitter @jane4girls

Then tweet this: I need Better Life http://www.cleanhappens.com/ from @jane4girls so @cleanhappens in my house! http://jane4girls.blogspot.com/ Go win it!

You can tweet twice a day. Entries will be taken until Friday, October 30th at noon CST. I will then post the winner and you will have 48 hours to get back to me with your mailing information or a new winner will be picked. Anonymous entries will not count, I need a name and email address or link to your blog.

Harry Connick Jr. Your Songs

Harry Connick Jr (flutter) just released a new album “Your Songs” on September 22nd.

He added his own soulful jazz twist to old time favorites. Songs included on the new CD are:

Album Tracklisting (Originally performed by):

All The Way (Frank Sinatra)

There are several songs like Your Song and Just the Way you Are that I love, but there are others that while Harry sings them great, I can’t imagine anyone else singing them such as Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.

If you don’t know who Harry Connick Jr is (gasp) then you can find out more about him on his website or on facebook.

Swiffer WetJet Review

Picture 9

About a month ago I got the new Swiffer WetJet in the mail from MyBlogSpark. Since I don’t like mopping I put it off for a bit my floor was clean I had to wait for it to get very dirty.

Picture 8

The newly designed Swiffer WetJet has dual spray nozzles in front to start breaking up the dirt with the solution before the WetJet pad even touches it. There is also a removable large scrubby strip in the front that is great for getting those dried on messes.

IMG_1602

Almost all of my downstairs is ceramic tile and it really hides the dirt well. After cleaning the entire area this is what my WetJet pad looked like. Pretty gross huh?  It really locked in the dirt and picked up the pet hair too.

The Swiffer WetJet was so easy to use that my kids wanted to use it too. I kind of felt like Tom Sawyer and painting the fence. It was so much easier than using the old fashioned mop and bucket and lugging that around the floor.

Swiffer is so sure that you will love the WetJet that they are even offering a Money Back Guarantee on it.

Piggy Paint

PIGGY PAINT LOGO

We were recently sent some Piggy Paint for the girls to try out.

In case you have not heard of it Piggy Paint is a kid (and mom) friendly nail polish that contains no formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate or acetone.  It is a water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients.

With three girls always wanting to have their nails done this is a nice alternative to other polishes. I like that it is odorless as our house can sometimes smell like a nail salon.  This is also a safe polish for little kids who are always sticking their hands (or feet) in their mouths. Luckily mine are past that stage.

You can follow Piggy Paint on twitter or look for them on Facebook for secret sales and special offers. Or you can use this code: 4GIRLS15L for 15% off your purchase until October 15. This code is good on anything including sales items. If you spend over $25 shipping is FREE!

Munchkin Caterpillar Spillars

Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers review by Kimberly at Just Frugalicious. I received these but had no little ones to try them out, so I passed them onto Kimberly.

"We picked them up from her house last Thursday (before we visited Chick Fil A for their complimentary sandwiches). I really wanted to keep them all packaged up until we returned home – hoping not to have to gather them, three kids, Chick Fil A Sandwiches, backpacks, any anything else that might have been in the truck when we unloaded at home. But, that didn’t happen! With three inquisitive kids in the back seat of the Avalanche…..the package didn’t stay contained for too long! And, I of course ended up hunting throughout the entire back seat to try to find all the cups!!

At bath time, I had finally found all the cups and re-introduced them to Evan! HE LOVED THEM! He would scoop up the water and spill it out…… He loved when the water ran out of the bottom of the cup!

The cups are suppose to hook together to make a catapillar, but we didn’t have much success with that function of the product. The cups wouldn’t stay attached – and with one touch of a finger, they disconnected.

IMG_2062 IMG_2063 IMG_2064

Addison, our nearly 4 year old, loved the cups as much as Evan did! She played with him as I gave his bath – and at the end all three of us were equally wet, I believe!

IMG_2065

Evan was entertained by the cups and big sister!

IMG_2066

What suprised me was how fast the toys dried! I pulled them out of the bathwater and tossed them into the sink to drain. By the time I had Evan to his bed to finish drying and dressing him, the toys were nearly water-free. I tossed them in his bed with him – in an attempt to keep him occupied while Big Sister had a bath!

IMG_2067

Of course when I walked back into his room, all the cups had been tossed out of his crib (except this one) – which he quickly tossed upon my arrival. What a game of pick-up!!"

Make Back to School Special

bus

About two years ago my family started a tradition: Fresh Baked Cookie Wednesday. It marked the middle of the school week for my kids and gave us time to snack together after school and talk about the plans for the weekend.

MyBlogSpark and Pillsbury gave me some of the Ready to Bake Back to School cookies to try out. One thing we love about these (besides just eating them raw) is that you can bake as little or as many as you want. That comes in very handy in my house since my kids only like “hot” cookies, so I can make 6-8 of them and not have leftovers or I can make the whole batch.

The Back to School Ready to Bake cookies are available for a limited time and one lucky ready is going to get to try them out also, plus the items pictured above thanks to Pillsbury and MyBlogSpark.

How to enter:

Leave a comment about a school tradition your family takes part it. That is it! I will pick a random answer and post the winner. Entries will be taken until Tuesday, September 15th at noon CST. At that time I will post the winner and you have 48 hours to get back to me with your mailing information or a new winner will be picked.
